At present, there are no separate standards for divisible protective pipes, but they follow the same requirements that apply to standard whole pipes.

Greenpipe tests against three different standards.

Swedish Standard SS 424 14 37 talks about the requirements for strength that are placed on protective pipes in different installation methods. Based on this, SPF together with Statens
Provningsanstalt (SP) / Reasearch institute of Sweden (RISE) has developed SPF Verksnorm 5200 which talks about how the pipes should be tested to meet the standard. Here, ring act resistance against a falling skewer. Based on results, the pipes are classified into three different classes; SRN (Protection, pipes, normal installation), SRS (protection, pipes, difficult installation) and SRE-P (protection, pipes, extra difficult installation, plastic pipes)

ISO 9969 is an international standard. Here, ring rigidity is tested and the inner diameter is within a certain tolerance level throughout the pipe. Based on results, the products are classified as SN4, SN8 and SN12, etc.

EN61286 is a European standard that tests ring stiffness, impact strength, flexural strength, and tolerance of inner diameter. Based on results, the products are then classified as N250, N450, N750, N1250, etc.
